Andy Garcia will forever be a fan of Diane Keaton.
Almost three weeks after the Oscar winner died following a battle with pneumonia at the age of 79, her Godfather III and Book Club costar reflected on what a special individual she was.
"She's a unicorn," Andy shared with E! News correspondent Erin Lim Rhodes at the 5th annual Celebration of Latino Cinema & Television in Los Angeles Oct. 24. "She's a unique, unique spirit. It's undefinable. She was an American original."
And the 69-year-old was honored that he got to "work opposite her many times" -- most recently on 2023's Book Club: The Next Chapter -- adding, "That was a great blessing."
Shortly after her passing, Andy -- who accepted the Vanguard award at the 5th annual celebration -- had shared several photos of Diane to Instagram, which he told E! he'd taken while working on The Godfather sequel in Sicily.
"I had them in an old album there," he recalled. "My wife said, 'Look at these images that you took of Diane.'"
