For London designer Ellie Misner, putting together her autumn winter 2026 collection interpolated with her turning 30. In a low-lit private room within Mayfair's elegant Isabel restaurant, her demi couture offering, titled "It's My Birthday, I Can Cry If I Want To," played out with an intimate launch party that gathered friends, editors, and creatives.
The designs unspool the complex emotions that come with celebrating your third decade: the pressures to feel chic, put together, and like you have it all figured out. These feelings were reimagined in garments that represent a series of character at the birthday-dinner-gone-wrong: a dress hand-embellished with mother of pearl and a beaded rosé wine stain, unravelling trains, splaying zips, and dessert spoon-laced corsetry. (Misner is renowned for her sensual corsetry and demi couture that celebrates all bodies, worn by everyone from Lena Dunham, to Raye and Myha'la.) Many guests wore pieces directly from the new line and others reworked, swathed in dusty pinks and golds, sumptuous reds and navy, silk taffetas, heavy satins, and deadstock fabrics that include the designer's parents's curtains.
