EXCLUSIVE: Strange Darling filmmaker JT Mollner has inked with WME for representation in all areas, we have learned.
Mollner wrote and directed Strange Darling starring Willa Fitzgerald and Kyle Gallner which opened in theaters in August 2024 and landed a 96% critical score on Rotten Tomatoes. The film went on to win Best Thriller at the Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror Films, the Grand People's Choice Award at Sitges, and earned Mollner Best Director at the Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival.
Mollner adapted Stephen King's The Long Walk for Lionsgate. He's reteaming with Lionsgate again on another King project, adapting and directing the author's The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon. Mollner is also set to direct Brie Larson in the J.J. Abrams produced creature feature Skeletons. He's also writing and helming the pilot for A24's television adaptation of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre.
Mollner first garnered industry attention with his debut feature, Outlaws and Angels, a revisionist Western that premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in 2016. The film, notable for being shot on 35mm despite its ultra-low budget.
Mollner continues to be represented by World Builder Entertainment and Jackoway Austen Tyerman.
