The gritty live-action superhero series arrives on Amazon Prime Video May 27.
Spider-Man is swinging into an entirely new era. Amazon Prime Video's highly anticipated live-action series, Spider Noir, officially premieres this week, bringing a dark, moody version of the Marvel universe to life with Nicolas Cage stepping into the lead role.
Created and developed by writer and executive producer Oren Uziel, Spider-Noir is set in an alternate-universe version of New York City in the 1930s, during the Great Depression. The series follows Ben Reilly, also known as Spider-Noir, a grizzled private investigator and former masked vigilante who is forced to confront his dangerous past after a new case threatens to destroy the quiet life he's built for himself.
Spider-Noir premieres on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at 12 a.m. PT, with all eight episodes released. Fans can watch the new series in either full color or black and white, a unique offering for this vintage-inspired show.
Spider-Noir is a Prime Video original series, and it will stream exclusively on Prime Video beginning May 27. So, if you want to tune in for the noir-inspired superhero drama, you'll need a Prime Video subscription. With a Prime Video subscription, you watch the series from your smartphone, tablet, computer, or smart TV -- basically any compatible device with an internet connection.
In addition to Spider-Noir, Prime Video gives subscribers access to original series, movies, and thousands of additional TV shows and films. If you already shop regularly on Amazon, there's a good chance you may already have access through your existing Prime account.
If you can't wait until the official release date to stream Spider-Noir, there's also an early viewing option available through the MGM+ linear broadcast channel. On May 25, U.S. viewers will be able to watch the new series two days ahead of its official premiere. Do keep in mind, however, that it will not be available through the MGM+ streaming app.
To watch Amazon Prime Video, you'll need to have an Amazon Prime membership or a standalone Prime Video subscription.
Both Amazon Prime membership options include the default, ad-supported version of Prime Video. For an additional $5 per month, you can remove commercials from any Amazon Prime or Prime Video subscription.
